Faizan Riedinger (b. 1988) is a German-Pakistani visual artist based in Karachi. His practice explores the relationship between script, geometry, repetition, and space, drawing particular inspiration from the visual language of Arabic calligraphy.

Working with architect’s pens on canvas, Riedinger develops highly restrained compositions through meticulous, repetitive mark-making. His hyper-minimalist works transform the structure and rhythm of the Arabic script into abstract geometric forms, creating surfaces that invite sustained looking and quiet contemplation.Rooted in precision and repetition, his practice occupies a space between drawing, painting, and calligraphic abstraction.

In 2023, Riedinger’s work was acquired by the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur as part of Alif Lam Ra - an exhibition marking the museum’s silver jubilee bringing together contemporary calligraphic artists from around the world.
